Welcome to Highgreen Arts

We run residential arts courses in the heart of the Northumberland National Park. Hidden away from the distractions of the everyday world we provide a unique environment for creativity, contemplation, and contentment.

Since 2000 we have been running a limited number of courses each year in creative writing, the visual arts and yoga. We can cater for up to 10 students at a time. We think we offer something unique and special. Fortunately, so do our students and we have many who keep coming back.

We believe that the essential element for running a successful course is the quality of the teaching so we invite only experienced teachers on the basis of recommendations or personal contacts. Most of our teachers are well acknowledged in their field.

We work hard to ensure you are well looked after. Highgreen is not an institution, a training centre, or a hotel. Your room will not have a mini-bar or cable TV. When you stay with us you are living in our house and we like to think of you as part of the family.
